TURNING WORLDS dance theatre Turning Worlds dance theatre company

TURNING WORLDS was originally founded in 1990 and operates as a non-profit making community based dance organisation. Since its founding TURNING WORLDS has developed multiple projects with far reaching themes e.g. Semaphore#selfies, Quantum, Herd, Troop etc. Usually developed in collaboration with artists working in other disciplines: film, music, new technologies, sculpture, and organisations e.g. Anglia Ruskin and Hertfordshire Universities, Colchester Arts Centre, the beefriendlytrust. The company has been operational from its base in the East of England since 2005, and has led participatory projects in a wide range of schools, colleges, adult education and community centres whilst presenting original performance works in theatres e.g. the Junction, Cambridge, Weston Auditorium, Hatfield, New Cut arts centre, Suffolk as well as unusual venues such as the Chelmsford shopping mall as part of Chelmsford Festival. TURNING WORLDS has shared their enthusiasm for people moving in creative patterns through innovative films (award winning), and encouraged hundred of different people to embrace the practice of dance. In this it has engaged with National initiatives such as Big Dance and worked with national organisations such as the Conway Hall in mentoring new dance practitioners.
