Hoot & Holler in concert at The Carlile Institute, Meltham

Hoot & Holler in concert at The Carlile Institute, Meltham

Hoot and Holler is an appealing young American folk/roots and Americana duo that blends old time Appalachian traditions with fine contemporary songwriting and excellent musicianship on fiddle, guitar and banjo.

Based in Ashville, North Carolina, both Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski are alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music and combine polished musicianship with the grit, drive and soul of their mountain musician heroes. The duo has performed at venues and festivals across the USA and Australia, and this summer will see them embark on their debut tour of the UK.

Award winning local music promoter True North Music has booked Hoot & Holler’s entire UK tour and we wanted to host out own gig too! We look forward to presenting this fine duo at The Carlile Institute on Sunday 25th August, for what’s sure to be another entertaining and fun evening of live music. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend so although the concert is on a Sunday, it’s not a “school night”! As usual there will be a very reasonably priced licensed bar, run by the community association.

Early bird tickets £12, now on sale locally in Meltham at Café 33 and The Flower Box. Tickets are also available online at

£14 on the door (if not sold out in advance).
Doors 7:30pm, concert from 8pm.
