Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
If you are working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults you may be required to undertake a DBS check.  The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). 

Kirklees Safeguarding Children
The site provides safeguarding information for professionals and volunteers in Kirklees.  It also gives information for members of the public, parents and carers, and children and young people on some of the key issues that can affect the wellbeing and safety of children.

Kirklees Safeguarding Adults
The Board is a multi agency partnership with a key role in promoting the safeguarding agenda. The site has information for professionals on safeguarding vulnerable adults and reporting abuse.  Kirklees Safeguarding Adults have produced their a strategic plan that sets out a clear vision for the next few years and provides a framework for the development of an annual work programme, in line with Care Act guidance

This is the Government site for safeguarding children, including training resources, information and statutory guidance.
