Puy Dr Puy Soden, artist-educator offering art workshops for all

Dr Puy Soden is an artist-educator with a private studio in Huddersfield. Puy investigates the multiple ways of making and using the main components of painting: the support; the surface; and the paint. Rather than any planned outcome, she focuses on the activity of painting, and the immersion in experiments that test materials and methods.

Enabling more people to access experimental, process-led art-making is central to Puy’s work. As well as continuing to investigate painting in her studio, Puy offers workshops in a variety of settings and formats. PRACTICEXPERIMENT is Puy’s current programme of educational events designed to make structured, experimental art-making more accessible to more people interested in creative, group activity.

Puy also teaches at a special school for SEN students in Pontefract, and is an artist-educator for Artworks in Halifax.
