Slow Stitch Saturday - Stitching Mandalas

Slow Stitch Saturday - Stitching Mandalas

Mindfulness through making

Take a couple of hours for yourself this Saturday morning and join maker, Nicola Twynham, in exploring the concept of Slow Stitch. The process of hand embroidery and appliqued fabric in a mindful and calming environment in the Byram Art and Design Studio.

The session will provide a welcoming and tranquil work space and all the materials needed to develop your own piece of textile art in a small group. Suitable for beginners and more advanced embroiderers. All materials and tools provided.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Next three sessions are:

4th April - Exploring Inchies. The warm-up exercise at the last slow stitch session was so popular I have decided to give it its own session! We will use Inchie grids on a variety or fabrics, exploring mark making.

6th June - Celebrating Circles. Using circle templates we will explore applique and stitch using circles to build up abstract images in this session, exploring the meaning that can be produced with just one shape.

4th July - Stitched Mandalas. Geometric shapes organised around a central point in a methodical and repetitive process to build up a stunning image that you can get lost in!

£14.50 per person.

Can be attended as one off sessions or a series. Two sessions for £25 or the three sessions for £37.

Ten places available per workshop. Your place is not confirmed until the payment has been received.

Lift available. PLEASE NOTE, Byram Arcade toilets are via steps.
