The Marsden Poetry Trail

The Marsden Poetry Trail

Starts 10 a.m, Saturday 15th September from Marsden Mechanics.

(this event is part of the Marsden Walking Weekend)

The poetry trail is a circular of nine miles, starting from the village, up Pule Hill then across moorland tracks.

This is a wonderful circular walk with plenty of opportunity to discover local poets (contemporary and historic, from Ian McMillan and Simon Armitage to Samuel Laycock and Ammon Wrigley). There are several points of poetry inspiration and some industrial heritage.

The trail has one short steep ascent but otherwise is a moderate walk over high ground. Weather permitting we’ll be eating lunch at the Dinner Stone on Millstone Edge.

Boots, waterproofs, drinks and snacks essential.

See the event on Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/events/446176269185978/] for more info.

This walk will be led by local Poet, David Coldwell.
