Hallowe'en Happening

Hallowe'en Happening

Dare you enter the HALLOWE'EN HAPPENING?

We are opening our doors to all mummies, monsters, vampires, zombies and witches for Huddersfield's biggest and boldest Hallowe'en arts festival.

Move freely around the halls of our atmospheric Georgian building and discover the secrets that dwell within in this frightful feast of special events that prove Hallowe'en is not just for children.

You and your friends will cross over to the other side and enter our creepy courtyard. Climb into our coffin for some spooky selfies and find out what your afterlife entails with tarot card readings in our Caravan of Curiosities.

The evening is yours to curate as you please so pick your poison from the bar and explore the eccentric and eclectic line up of misfits and miscreants haunting our spaces...

Meet MESSRS. CURZON, CARTER & TAYLOR and experience the thinning of the veil betwixt our world and the next and feast your eyes on incredible art depicting all things weird and wonderful with exhibitions all over the theatre.

Head below the surface to be mutilated by special effects make-up artist DOUGLAS THOMPSON with seeping wounds and gruesome scars and try your hand at SPLAT ANATOMY, a gruesome game in the Green Room.

Settle in for devilishly good drama on our main stage with KWAIDAN, an intricate and atmosphere piece based on Japanese ghost and horror stories that's bound to chill you to the bone.

There are a number of smaller performances possessing our smaller spaces which will repeat throughout the evening for your delectation. Explore obsessions in NORMAN WISDOM AND THE ANGEL OF DEATH, based on award-winning author Christopher Fowler's short story. Try not to have nightmares as you get IN BED WITH THE DEAD for scary tales from another realm, and create your own creepy keepsake with STEAMPUNKER.

Nourish your soul with Sweeney Todd's hearty pie and peas and get ready to shake your bones to live music in our cellar crypt.

Master Michael Jackson's legendary THRILLER dance with a professional choreographer before dancing the night away with LES VEGAS AND THE INTERNATIONAL PLAYBOYS OF RHYTHM.

Then, when the witching hour arrives, gather in our main house and prepare for a frightfully fun interactive screening of the 1973 cult classic in SING ALONG A WICKER MAN. Pick up a goody bag full of dark secrets (for use during the film) and a Pagan Hymn Book with lyrics to all the songs. Then, at the Witching Hour the film is shown in all its camp, twisted glory. Prizes will be given for the best Wicker Man themed fancy dress so get creative.
