The 2021/22 Kirklees Concert Season marks another step in our journey towards the Year of Music 2023 which will put Kirklees and our partners firmly on the musical map and will establish Kirklees as a cultural centre for all forms of Music.
The Season as always offers a sensational range of orchestral, organ and chamber concerts at Huddersfield and Dewsbury Town Halls. After missing a full season, we are delighted that the 2021-22 Kirklees Concert Season brings you a full programme of orchestral, chamber and organ concerts, including the much loved Huddersfield University Brass Band Christmas Concerts which return as part of the lunchtime series
Ever committed to delivering outstanding classical music in the towns of Huddersfield and Dewsbury at affordable prices, Opera North and Kirklees Council embark on another year in partnership to present a superb season featuring the Orchestra of Opera North and Guest Curator for the Organ Season, David Pipe along with guest organists.
Orchestral season - Orchestral and Chamber concerts
From sensational symphony music to heart-warming, family-friendly concerts, the Kirklees orchestral season, underpinned by the exceptional Orchestra of Opera North, continues to bring a thrilling variety to the concert stage of our Town Halls. Showcasing exceptional talent, both homegrown and international, we're thrilled to bring you internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists right to your doorstep.
Talking Music: Join a lively discussion before selected orchestral concerts with the events' soloists and conductors. Please see individual concerts for start times.
Lunchtime Organ concerts
Under new Guest Curator David Pipe, Monday lunchtime concerts on Huddersfield Town Hall's famous Father Willis organ include guest debuts, works by contemporary composers alongside more traditional repertoire, and the return of Dr Gordon Stewart for his farewell concert as Borough Organist but also to welcome him in his new role as Organist Emeritus. With lunch, wonderful anecdotes and a friendly welcome in store, it's no wonder these lunchtime concerts at Huddersfield Town Hall are popular among our patrons.
Single tickets are on sale now. Subscriber tickets for the Orchestral Season can be booked until 23 September, for the Lunchtime Organ Concerts until 20 September and for the Lunchtime Chamber concerts until 15 September.
