Hepworth Band looks forward to the New Year

The Hepworth band looks forward to the new-year after a busy festive period as it begins preparations for New Year Viennese concerts at Christ Church, New Mill and Uppermill Civic Hall, the Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Championships in Huddersfield Town Hall and a new joint venture with the Yorkshire folk singer Roger Davies

A New Year’s Viennese Concert

Join the band at Christ Church, New Mill, Holmfirth on Sunday 21st January, 3.00pm for an afternoon packed full of Viennese musical delights, evoking the magic and excitement of 19th century ballrooms with sparkling waltzes, famous overtures and fiery polkas.
The programme includes traditional Viennese favourites such as the Blue Danube Waltz and the famous Radetzky March; add a bit of New Year fizz and you have a concert guaranteed to brighten up the darkest of winter days.
Tickets £8 (including a glass of fizz) available from Wm Sykes & Sons Estate Agents, Holmfirth, Christ Church, New Mill and the Band (07885 251454).

Champion Brass – New Year’s Viennese Gala Concert

Champion Brass & Phil Beck Promotions welcome the band to Uppermill Civic Hall on Saturday 27th January, 7.30pm for a New Year’s Viennese Gala Concert, hosted by BBC Radio Leeds Yorkshire Brass presented David Hoyle.
Tickets £12 include a glass of fizz on arrival and are available from all Saddleworth post offices, Saddleworth Museum and from Phil Beckwith (07976 165815).

Yorkshire Regional Championships

Over 60 bands will take to the stage in Huddersfield Town Hall over the first weekend in March as they compete for the honour of representing Yorkshire at the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
The band will compete with 12 other Championship section bands, including the famous names of Black Dyke, Brighouse & Rastrick and Grimethorpe Colliery performing the set work Odessey (Kevin Norbury) as they seek qualification to the national finals at the Royal Albert Hall in October.

Quality Folk & Champion Brass

The Brighouse based Yorkshire singer songwriter Roger Davies joins forces with the Hepworth Band for ‘Quality Folk & Champion Brass’ at the Picturedrome, Holmfirth.
Roger Davies is a fantastic lyricist whose songs are a reflection of the world around us. Roger and the band recently collaborated to release ‘Christmas on King Street’, a special charity Christmas song in aid of the West Yorkshire homelessness charity ‘Simon on the Streets’ and are looking forward to presenting a superb evening of brass and contemporary folk music.
Tickets £12 are available online from www.picturedrome.net, from the Box Office Bar, Holmfirth and from the band (07885 251454).
