Elstree Screen Heritage

Elstree Screen Heritage Elstree Screen Heritage

Elstree Screen Heritage was created in 2005 by local volunteers to record, preserve and share
the unique film and television legacy of Elstree and Borehamwood.

It has built up an archive of information, memories, images, video and other material. In partnership
with staff and students of the University of Hertfordshire, Elstree Screen Heritage runs “The Elstree
Project” to record the memories of veterans of the film and TV studios.

“First Impressions”, a community-based project, has created many high impact visual reminders
of the local heritage of film and TV production. A heritage trail now runs from the railway station,
along Shenley Road, past the BBC Elstree Centre to Elstree Studios and beyond.

During 2014 we will celebrate a Centenary of local film-making with a range of activities, including
a free-to-all exhibition at the new community museum.
