A Collection of Broken Toys

A Collection of Broken Toys

The Broken Toy Company are taking over the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

The exhibition, A collection of Broken Toys.
From Monday 20th April Dex Hannon, (paintings and photographs), China9, Evil Jesus and Dexuality Valentino's artworks will be on show. This is the first time they have shown together under one roof.

Dex Hannon will be showing his new, never before shown, radical geometric series, Painting vs Digital. A series where he creates a painting and then radically remixes it digitally. Either to enhance the original concept or turn it on its head.

In the lower bar You can also see Dex Hannon's macro photography. He shoots the tiny landscapes beneath our feet. His work concentrates on the weeds and the undergrowth. He wants people to love these tiny landscapes as much as he does.

China9's bold expressive loose colourful work is showing in the upstairs bar. China9 works with bold, bright colours. The colours escape their boundaries and shake off the shackles of the controlling outline, giving the body of work a sense of freedom and movement.

Evil Jesus is showing on the top floor His work is an examination of the decline of the psyche. Some of the works were created over a 5 day period without sleep, food or liquid, he wanted to push himself as far to the edge as he could.

Dexuality Valentinos miniatures will be in the booking office. Strange, surreal tiny canvases intricately painted and penned.

A show not to be missed. Make sure you find the time to pop in and have a look. The show runs for two weeks.
