Culture is Digital

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport have launched a report that is the culmination of the Digital Culture Project with the #CultureisDigital online consultation. There are three key themes:

•Audiences - using technology to drive audience engagement,
•Skills - boosting the digital capability of cultural organisations
•Future strategy - unleashing the creative potential of technology.

The report sets out an ambitious framework for how culture and technology can work together to increase participation and boost the capability of cultural organisations. You can read an Executive summary of the report by following the link below, which also gives details of the commitments made by government and major stakeholders such as Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and The National Archives. Museums, galleries, theatres and heritage organisations will be given access to cutting-edge technology and digital skills training to help them reach new and diverse audiences.
